YMCA Newcomer Information Centre: 
The Newcomer Information Centre (NIC) complies and maintains a monthly calendar of settlement and community events. You can visit the NIC website regularly to develop your monthly learning plan. 

 

Immigrant Women Services Ottawa
Immigrant Women Services Ottawa is a community based agency serving immigrant and racialized women. We create opportunities for women as they integrate into a new society, rebuild their lives free of violence, and achieve their personal goals. Every year, over 2000 women and children are helped by IWSO’s dedicated staff and volunteers.

Services include: Crisis Intervention and Counselling, Interpretation and Translation, and Settlement and Integration.

 

English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community (ELTOC)

English as a Second Language (ESL) - Home Tutoring for Adult Newcomers

English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community provides individualized and accessible English as a Second Language training at no charge for eligible newcomers who cannot attend regular ESL classes.  Click HERE for more information, to check if you are eligible, and to register. 

 

The Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre (OCCSC)

OCCSC is a non-profit, non-partisan, charitable organization committed to advancing the full social and economic integration and participation of newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and people of Chinese descent in the City of Ottawa.  You can head to the OCCSC Website to check out all the programs and services that they are currently offering: Home (occsc.org)

The Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) 

OCISO’s multi-faceted programs and services are delivered in over 50 languages to clients from 120 countries by OCISO’s team of knowledgeable, skilled and professional staff. OCISO provides settlement, language, employment, counselling, youth, and community connection services.

 

Jewish Family Services (JFS) – Providing services in a variety of languages to support newcomers from various cultural, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds who are now making their home in the Ottawa area.  JFS offers Newcomer and Settlement Services

 

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) - The Continuing Education Department offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, and Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes for adults in Ottawa. Classes are offered from beginner to advanced levels and help develop skills in reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, pronunciation, and more. We offer online and in-person LINC classes with free childcare, as well as online and in-person ESL classes.   English as a Second Language/Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada - Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (ocdsb.ca)
