Registration for NROCRC's Income Tax Clinics Begins

This program helps individuals living in the NROCRC catchment area who have a modest income and a simple tax situation submit their tax returns at no cost.

ELIGIBILITY

• Service available only to residents in our catchment area

• Processing 2025 tax returns only

• Simple tax returns for individuals and families with modest incomes

 

Family income thresholds

Under $40,000 — 1 person

$55,000 — 2 people

$60,000 — 3 people

+ $5,000 per additional person

 

Simple Income Tax: 

No income, or income from these sources:

  • Employment
  • Pension
  • Benefits providing income such as: CPP, OAS, ODSB (disability insurance) etc.
  • Employment Insurance (EI)
  • Social assistance/Ontario Works (OW)
  • Registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs)
  • Scholarships, fellowships, bursaries, or grants
  • Interest (under $1,200)

 

Not eligible: self-employed individuals, deceased person returns, or bankruptcy in the tax year

 

The registration is open online or by phone between: February 17 – April 24, 2026 , or until all appointment slots are booked.

 

When are the clinics?  

Mondays starting March 2-April 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Wednesdays starting March 4-April 29 from 10:00-2:00 p.m.

Saturdays starting March 7– April 25 from 10:00-3:00 p.m.

How do I register to file my income tax with NROCRC?

We are booked for the month of March. Registration for the month of April reopens on March 10, 2026.

 

On-Line: You can book your appointment by visiting the Tax Clinic Booking System

By Phone: If you are unable to book your own appointment on-line call NROCRC at 613 596-5626 extension 303. Leave a message with your name and phone number and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring to your appointment:

    • Valid government-issued photo identification for you and your family members filing taxes
    • Social insurance number (SIN) or a valid temporary SIN

     

    Income information slips as appropriate to your situation:

    • T4, T4E, T4A T4A(OAS), T4A(CPP), T4P, T4RSP, T4RIF, etc.
    • T5007 (WSB/OW/ODSP)
    • T2202 (if you paid tuition for post-secondary studies in 2025)

     

    • Childcare expense receipts
    • Medical expenses, including health plan premiums
    • OC-Transpo or Para-Transpo expenses for those age 65 or older
    • Charitable donation receipts
    • Rent or property taxes paid in 2025

 

It is not mandatory, but can be helpful to the volunteer if you also bring your prior year (2024) tax return & notice of assessment from CRA
